As soon as the doors of the sanctum were opened, priests performed a ceremonial worship of all deities installed in the sanctum. Lord Mahakal was first bathed with holy water, followed by a Panchamrit abhishek using milk, curd, ghee, sugar and fruit juices, in accordance with age-old traditions.
