Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh: During the early morning Bhasma Aarti on Sunday, devotees at the world-famous Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple witnessed a calm yet radiant form of Baba Mahakal as the sanctum doors opened.
The Jyotirlinga was adorned with sacred ash, prominently featuring Sun symbols, a crescent moon design, and the Trinetra, creating a powerful spiritual presence inside the garbhagriha.
Floral Adornments Enhance the Divine Aura
Baba Mahakal was beautifully decorated with thick garlands of marigold, rose, and white flowers.
A floral crown adorned the forehead, while the silver base enhanced the grandeur of the overall shringar.
The gentle gaze of the eyes and the serene expression on the Jyotirlinga filled the sanctum with a deeply spiritual atmosphere.
Rituals Performed Amid Vedic Chants
After the offering of sacred ash, lamps were lit around the Jyotirlinga.
Fruits and sweets were presented as bhog, followed by the aarti performed amid continuous chanting of mantras.
A large number of devotees were present for the Bhasma Aarti and sought blessings from Baba Mahakal for peace and prosperity.

According to belief, after the offering of bhasma, Lord Mahakal grants direct darshan to devotees and fulfills their wishes.
