Pop star Justin Timberlake was charged with driving while intoxicated in Sag Harbor, New York’s Hamptons, early Tuesday after running a stop sign and veering out of his lane.
Timberlake, driving a 2025 BMW at 12:30 a.m., was found intoxicated with bloodshot eyes, slurred speech, and poor sobriety test performance.
Timberlake admitted to having one martini and refused a breath test after being arrested and taken to a police station in East Hampton.
The 43-year-old singer was released without bond Tuesday morning, charged with a DWI misdemeanor, and scheduled to appear in court on July 26.
Timberlake’s lawyer confirmed he doesn’t need to appear in person for his next court date, while Timberlake's representatives didn’t comment.
The arrest drew curiosity seekers to Sag Harbor’s Main Street, including music legend Billy Joel, who owns a home there and witnessed the scene.
Timberlake, a former Disney Mouseketeer and NSYNC member, rose to solo fame in 2002 and is known for hits like “Cry Me A River” and “Can’t Stop The Feeling!”
He also built a successful acting career with roles in movies such as “The Social Network” and has won four Primetime Emmy Awards.
Last year, Timberlake was mentioned in Britney Spears’ memoir detailing their past relationship; he also released a new album in March.
Sag Harbor, historically a whaling village, is now a celebrity hotspot, attracting stars and wealthy individuals, impacting its small-town charm.
