Kelly Clarkson discussed her weight loss journey on "The Kelly Clarkson Show," revealing she took a prescription drug for weight loss, not Ozempic as many assumed.

Clarkson clarified that the medication she used helps in breaking down sugar, addressing her body's difficulty in doing so due to her thyroid issues.

Her doctor pursued her for two years to start the medication, but Clarkson was initially hesitant because of her thyroid problems.

She shared that she was motivated to lose weight after being diagnosed as pre-diabetic, with doctors warning her of high blood sugar levels.

Pre-diabetes indicated a significant risk of developing Type 2 Diabetes, prompting Clarkson to take her condition seriously.

In conversation with Whoopi Goldberg, Clarkson mentioned her bloodwork had worsened, making medication necessary.

Goldberg shared her experience with weight loss using a different medication, highlighting the struggles of managing weight with health issues.

Both women reflected on their surprise at their weight gain, with Clarkson recalling not recognizing herself in past footage.

Clarkson credited her weight loss to following her doctor’s advice and incorporating more walking since moving her show to New York.

Despite not naming her medication, Clarkson emphasized the importance of medical guidance
