Gopi Thotakura, from Andhra Pradesh, became the first Indian space tourist on Blue Origin's New Shepard-25 mission.

He flew with five others, including Ed Dwight, who, at 90, became the oldest person to reach space.

Despite living in the US, Gopi kept his Indian passport, making him the first Indian citizen in space as a tourist.

Gopi, a trained pilot and co-founder of a wellness center, has a BSc in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle.

Blue Origin plans to launch the New Glenn rocket and send humans to the moon for NASA later this decade.

Ed Dwight, a 1961 astronaut candidate, finally reached space, surpassing William Shatner's age record.

Previous missions included celebrities like William Shatner and Michael Strahan.
